Getting links to your website is one of the most important and one of the most difficult tasks that you have to do if you want to get high rankings on Google. If you want to improve the rankings on your website on Google, it is often much easier to improve your existing backlinks than getting new links to your website. Step 1: Correct links that point to your old domain names
Step 2: Correct links to broken pages on your website
Step 3: Try to improve the anchor texts
Step 4: Suggest other relevant websites (not so strange as it seems)
Step 5: Check the links and the navigation on your own website
