Inbound links and optimized
content for your web site |
Last
week, we published the results
of a new search engine ranking
study. The researchers wanted
to find out which factors influence
web site rankings on Google, Yahoo
and MSN. The results of the study
are so important that we take
another look at the main results
of the study in this issue.
The researchers found out that
the contents of a web page are
important for the search engine
rankings of a web page. However,
the inbound links to a web site
are the most important factor
on Google, Yahoo and MSN.
Inbound links are the most
important factor, optimized
content follows
It's important to optimize
your web page contents for
your keywords. By optimizing
your web page contents for
your keywords, you tell search
engines that your pages are
relevant to these keywords.
As long as there is no competition,
your web pages will get top
rankings for these keywords.
Unfortunately, there's a lot
of competition on the Internet
and many pages are optimized
for the same keywords.
That's where inbound links
come in. If more than one
web page is optimized for
the same keyword, then the
web page with the best inbound
links will get the best rankings.
Your web site must meet
certain criteria to get high
rankings
First of all, you must optimize
your web page contents for
your keywords. Search engines
must be able to find out that
your pages are relevant to
your keywords. Use IBP's web
page optimizer to make
your web pages search engine
ready.
After optimizing your web
page contents, you have to
find out how the links to
your web site should look
like so that search engines
give your web pages high rankings.
Use IBP's inbound
link optimizer to find
out on which pages your links
should appear and which link
text you should use.
As soon as you know how the
links to your web site should
look like you can use the link
building tools in IBP's
ARELIS section to build high
quality inbound links to your
web site.
Two free SEO eBooks help
you with inbound links and
optimized content
Getting
good inbound links and optimizing
your web page content can be
tricky if you don't know how
to do it right. The free SEO
ebook "Proven
Methods For Successful Search
Engine Marketing" explains
everything that is necessary
to optimize your web page content.
The free SEO eBook "How
To Get High Quality Inbound
Links" explains
everything you need to know
about link popularity. It
also explains how you can
get the best inbound links.
Both eBooks have checklists
that help you to optimize
your site as quickly as
possible.
Getting top 10 rankings for
your web site on Google, Yahoo,
MSN and other search engines
is possible if you do the right
things. If you follow the steps
above your web site will get
top 10 rankings on Google and
Yahoo within the next few weeks.

Search engine news of the week |
The
new Yahoo! Search Crawler
(Slurp)
"We launched a new Yahoo!
Search Crawler, Yahoo! Slurp
earlier this week. In addition
to crawling the Internet faster,
our new crawler is more efficient
at visiting websites. As a
result, site owners will notice
as much as a 25% reduction
in the number of requests
and bandwidth consumed by
the crawler. [...]
With this change of behavior
in the crawler, you may see
some shuffling of the pages
that are included in the index
and some changes in ranking
as well."
Google
to offer advertisers click
fraud stats
"Responding to concerns
about click fraud in the online-ad
industry, Google will be revealing
to advertisers the number
of invalid clicks on their
ads."
Google's
Matt Cutts talks about SEO
on Google Video
"This is my personal
opinion. The views expressed
on these pages are mine alone
and not necessarily those
of my employer. [...] I wanted
to make a video so that I
could give a little more detail
and nuance than you’d
get from reading a sentence
or two."
MSN spiders have new names
The MSN Shopping bot is msnbot-products,
the MSN News bot is msnbot-news,
the MSN Image Search bot is
msnbot-MM, the MSN Search
bot is still just plain msnbot.

New
media making deals with 'old'
news providers
"Google and Yahoo, along
with dozens of other Internet
companies, have been quietly
agreeing to deals that compensate
some of the country's top
news organizations for their
content and help drive more
traffic to their Web sites."
Google
CEO on content partnerships:
owners to get majority of
ad revenues
"So typically, in the
structure we help drive, the
majority of the revenue — and
the shares are pretty high — goes
to companies like AOL and
Ask Jeeves and so forth. We
get tremendous benefit, though
from that, because then those
advertisers are part of our
overall advertiser network
and so our Google.com property
gets that benefit."
How
to survive the Google AdWords
update of July 2006
"With the recent update
of Google's landing page algorithm,
many marketers that had been
paying five or ten cents a
click (or less) are now required
to bid at least 50 cents to
a dollar or more. [...]
Not all AdWords accounts
have been affected - ads going
to large sites with lots of
content have seen no changes
to their bid prices."
Outside
of search, Google doesn't
matter
"Google is fantastic
at producing products that
elicit the praise of the tech
press and blog-jihadists.
It appears to me that their
solution to everything is
Search, and that a white box
that you type text into is
the only thing that should
separate a user from content."

IBP is now available in version 9.2
The new version will now
upload only the link pages
and thumbnails that are new
or that have been changed
since the last upload.
The "Create Link Pages" button
in the ARELIS main window
now automatically creates
the link pages and uploads
them. You don't have to press
the "Next" button
anymore. This allows you to
quickly upload any changes.
The Web Site Optimization
Editor now supports the Meta
Robots "noodp" tag.
This forces Google and MSN
not to use the descriptions
from the ODP directory (www.dmoz.org)
for your web page in their
search results.
In addition to that, the
new version has many minor
improvements. If you haven't
done it yet, download
your free trial version now.
